May 20, 2014 - Los Angeles, CA - Alternative art-rock band Artifex Pereo has unveiled a new video for their song "To Listen & Say Nothing" today. The track is featured on the band's upcoming, debut album, Time In Place, which is due out on May 27th via Tooth & Nail Records.

Directed by Nate Corrona and shot in Atlanta, GA., the video for "To Listen & Say Nothing" is part performance cut with video footage that follows the band's lyrical story.

"This being our first video and our first interaction with a director, we weren't really sure what to expect going in," drummer Cory Eaves says. "Our band has always been heavily rooted in our DIY efforts, so we're always a little weary about bringing in an outside perspective into our tightly knit circle. We knew that we wanted a video that told the story of the song itself, and not be purely performance based. Going off of Nate's prior works, namely the videos he's done for Listener, we knew he could accomplish that for us. Nate made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. He put us into a professional and laid back atmosphere and let us do what we do, and he took care of the rest. We couldn't be more pleased with his work or with the outcome of the video."

"Instrumentally, this is an older idea that actually started out much heavier," guitarist/vocalist Jamie Davis says of the song. "What would probably be considered the heavier parts are pretty much the remnants of the original riffs. This song aggressively confronts a close minded-extremist in regard to the circumstances one is dealt and the potential reasons behind that. Some thank God for what they are blessed with in the same moments that some pray to God to help them out of what they've been cursed with. Whether you're born in the third world or within generations of a northwestern royalty, you have no prior control. There's no such thing as one great plan where everything falls into place because everyone has a different story with a different cause and a different set of tools. It's important to respect that which is complex beyond our comprehension and understand how imperative it is that we continue to learn."

"Listen & Say Nothing" follows the recent premieres of "Apeiron" and Hands of Penance," which have stirred up major buzz for the band leading up to the release of the new record. Time In Place is available now for pre-order http://smarturl.it/TNNstore.

Artifex Pereo will hit the road later this week in support of Time In Place. Follow the band at https://www.facebook.com/artifexpereo for additional updates.
